Serenade KV 375

Once again, the Settimane Musicali di Ascona offer a free open air concert along the Ascona lakeside. This year’s guests: the Charlottenburger Bläsersolisten, a spectacular wind ensemble from Berlin. It would be hard to find a more ideal orchestration for an open air wind ensemble concert. One should add that Mozart and Franz Krommerm, one of his successors at the Viennese court, wrote both of the works knowing that they would probably be listened to outdoors; they are thus extremely pleasant and attractive.
