Certain musical programmes provide not only a moment of escape and spiritual regeneration, but also memories steeped in nostalgia. An evocative, almost tangible snapshot of a performance that earned its place in the history of live music. That is what happened back in September 1953 with the Liederabend performed by the legendary soprano, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, one of the top singers of the previous century. Rachel Fenlon, a young and eclectic singer and pianist, will help us to relive this memorable event, performing works ranging from Bach to Hugo Wolf and Alma Mahler.
